Powers

I've always wished I would have been born with supernatural powers. Ever since I was little, my cousins and I would imagine we had different capabilities. We always would choose from, the ability to fly, or super- strength, or invisibility.
If I were able to chose my own powers, I would chose super strength, teleportation and the ability to freeze, fast forward, rewind, or slow down time.
My first choose would be super strength because I would feel superior to those around me. I would love to be able to teleport myself to any location I so desired because that would give me the advantage of being where I want whenever I want. My third choice, the capability of freezing, fast forwarding, rewinding, or slowing down time. This would give me the advantage of redoing my actions. If I made a choice I regretted I could go back and fix it. I don't know anything that would be better than having these powers.

High school

High school is a time for many things. In my opinion, it can make or break you at times. However, the mixture of the two I believe is beneficial. In high school, you become aware of things you were blinded to before.
Stress becomes something you get used to. The loads of homework, the hours of studying and the number of quizzes/ tests a week can drain you physically and mentally. All of that mixed with stress from home and sometimes with your friends and or relationships.
High school can also be the best years of your life. It's a time for many events such as football, volleyball, and basketball games. It's time to meet new people and experience new things. You can also be a part of extracurricular activities that benefit your decision making profession wise.
I believe that high school is a major step in the direction of adult hood. You mature all the way around.

Phone privileges

I believe the whole phone situation is just too much. As " college " students I feel sometimes we are treated as anything but. I, for one was not aware that there was ever an issue going on  pertaining to the use of our cell phones. I do not believe it is fair for all of the Early College students to suffer based on the immaturity and scandalous behavior of another students'.

Poem extra credit

I grab onto my wife's hand as we drive down the street
"We'll be there any minute honey" I say trying to comfort her
My babygirl will be here soon, I can hardly wait
November ninth, 2014, my life will now be changed forever
At that moment you made a difference
You were so selfish
You, as if it were impossible to leave your phone alone
You were so inconsiderate
You, as if texting was more important than my family
When did it hit you?
Did it hit you like you hit me?
Because of you my girls are gone, a thought I still can't live with
I ache with grief you've yet to understand
November ninth, 2014, you changed my life forever.

Apple

Apple products have their pros and cons. I have been an apple user since I was 10 when I purchased my first iPod. I was hooked ever since. Apple has over millions of different apps to choose from and there's many different selections to chose from.I love having an iPhone because there's an app to everything. It's as if I can get access/ information to many different things at the touch of my fingertips.
Recently, with the new update however, all the good music apps have disappeared. The thousands of songs I've saved over some years are now just a distant memory of the jam sessions I used to have whenever I played them.
If I had the ability to make a new app I would definitely chose to make an unlimited music app where I could download songs instantly. I would have the ability to download as many mixtapes/ albums/ songs as I desire. That would make Apple ten times better then it already is.

Lay's Restaurant

Food is life. I may be very petite and tiny but I can eat for three people if need be and if I am hungry enough. I love all types of food except seafood. I like cooking and have always wished my family would've opened up a restaurant so I could get free food.
If I were to open up a restaurant of my own I would call it Laynis. Layni is my nickname that everyone calls me. I would open it up in lorain because we need more variety food wise.
I would never consider letting seafood on the menu. I would however consider having Italian food. Italian food is my all time favorite. I would have lots of pasta choices to choose from. Chicken Alfredo is the best of the best and my restaurant would be deserving enough to serve it.
I may also consider having Puerto Rican food on my menu as well. Italian food and Puerto Rican food don't really flow together but oh well because they're delicious. I would have pastellios, pasteles, pernil, and tostones. My restaurant would be a success because I would work hard to turn it into one.

Peace 🌈☁️

Out of the many things in this world, there are only a select few that I would consider to be " comforting ". Unpositive vibes, negative remarks and or conversations all of which, are not at all comforting.
Music is my escape from all my problems. If it weren't for music, I'd be stressed out a lot more than I am on a regular basis. Whenever I get irritated at home, or at school or just in general I put my headphones In and it's as if I blare the world out. As the songs play my problems temporarily fade.    My brothers also give me peace when there's a million and one things going on in my life. Their laughs alone can reverse my whole bad mood. I love their presence when they're not being brats.
My final thing that's gives me peace is reading. I love to read. My favorite books are science fiction. I can literally stay in a library for hours on end and be perfectly okay with it. I love the quiet surroundings. I believe it is essential to have peace in this world that is anything but.

My name

Iris is my name. It may not be my first name but it's my middle name. My first name is random and has no meaning behind it. Iris is a type of flower and the word itself means rainbow. It is the flower of Iris the Greek goddess who was the messenger of love.
My middle name means the absolute world to me. My grandma, a well respected woman in my family is whom I received my middle name from. She is a second mother to me and I have the upmost respect for her. I adore the sweet smell of success and I get that quality from her. My grandma is like a lion. She watches over everyone in our family and will go out of her way to protect us all from any harm. Her heart is as pure as gold. I am beyond honered to share a name with someone like my grandma.

Chickens!

If I had to choose between having a cow, horse or twelve chickens two years ago I would most definitely chose the twelve chickens. I think that would be the most bennefical for many reasons.
Chickens can be a source of food as well as income. You would be getting at least twelve eggs daily which is a lot of you think about it. You can sell the leftover eggs you don't wish to use.
As far as income goes, you can also mate the chickens and sell their babies. Many people invest in chickens for a food source. Selling the chickens would result in more many for you.
A cow can give you milk and meat as well (if you butcher it) , but two thousand years ago how would you save all the meat without it going to waste? The chickens would be more bennefical than the cow and horse in my opinion.

Nastiest food.

I'm not very picky when it comes to food whatsoever. I probably would eat all day long if I could because food makes me the happiest. I love Italian and Puerto Rican food the most. My favorite foods are chicken Alfredo, tostones, and pizza pastellios.
However, there is many foods I have tried that made me absolutely sick to my stomach. The one I remeber vaguely is when my aunt invited me over for dinner for her "amazing" sour apple barbecue chicken. At first, I had my doubts and questioned whether or not I should try it, but I ended up brushing those feelings off. The first bite was so disgusting. I literally can cringe just thinking of the sour yet tingy taste.
I also cannot stand the taste of any type of bacon besides turkey bacon. Turkey bacon is delicious and I can eat it everyday of my life. The other types of bacon are beyond nasty and taste terrible and burnt. I also hate when it gets crispy and the fat from the bacon makes it so much worse. I'm guessing me and food have a love hate relationship.

As a friend ...

Creating good friendships is important to me. I've had many bad friendships because I didn't chose them wisely. A few of them ended badly to the point where whenever I see them there's an exchange of chide looks.
Your life revolves around the people you surround yourself with. Your friends are a reflection of yourself. I believe as you start growing up you realize more about people. It's better to have one real friend than ten fakes one. My realest friend is mia. I think we're so close because we have the same idea of what a friendship should be. You should help your friends become better people while they are doing the same for you.
Having a good friend is just as important as being a good friend. Everyone goes through troubles and unhappy times. The right friends can help you get through them.
No one is going to have a perfect friendship. It isn't hard however, to look after your friends and have their backs. Like I said, i would rather have my one real friend than the 10282938 fake ones I've had.

Invite 3 people over

If i could invite three people over to have coffee I would choose to invite Ellen, Misty May, and my great grandma. I would give Misty a cup with a volleyball on it because she was in the Olympics for volleyball. I would give Ellen a cup with a TV on it because she has her own TV show. I would give my grandma a cup with an angel on it because since she's passed that's what I've viewed her as.
I would love to talk to Ellen about anything. Some people may chide her for the things she says but I think she's hillarious and has an amazing sense of humor.  I want to see her views on things in the world. I would also love tickets to her show.
I would love for Misty May to come over because I've watched her play volleyball over and over again and it still amazes me how amazing she is. I would love to get some pointers from her and hopefully get better from them.
I would love for my grandma to come visit me because I never got a chance to get as close to her as I wanted to. I would love to hear stories about my dad when he was little.

Gardening

This week, me and a group of LCCC Early College students went to help with the garden here on campus. I enjoyed putting my effort into something that would not only give me a good use of my time , but also benefit the school. I feel as if doing good deeds for others and helping to change things around you not only benefits others, but benefits you as well.

Evangelical

Music puts me in another world. Whenever I am irritated or going through things, music is my go to tool to get me out of my own personal funk. I am very diverse when it comes to the genre of music I prefer. I listen to a variety of types. My favorites are country, pop, rap, and bachata.
There is not a day that goes by where I am not singing along to the radio or singing along to music that's stuck in my head. I do everything while I listen to music.. Cook, clean, etc.
My favorite artist is partynextdoor. His voice is unusual but in a good way. The beats of his songs drawl me in and I fall in love with more than half of them. I can listen to partynextdoor all day. His songs fill up my playlist and his pandora station is always my first choice.

#1 Rule

On a day to day basis, it is very common for people to disagree. The end result of a disagreement is almost always an argument. Some arguments may be dramatic and heartfelt. Others may be pointless arguments with no reason for even starting to begin with. No one is right about everything they think or say. I feel it is a necessity to reconcile and settle disputes as early as possible. To agree to disagree is an option as well.
No one has everything all figured out. The world would be a much more peaceful place if we did. You never know when yours' or anyone's last day will be. That is why I believe settling arguments is so necessary.
One morning you can be arguing with someone and by night they could be gone. Instead of having regret on your shoulders for saying things you can't take back, extricate yourself from the problem and make peace with one another. That would make things a lot simpler.
